Note: The following abbreviations are used on this page to describe the location of newly-added photos -- (D) = Downtown; (N) = North Side; (S) = South Side; (W) = West End; (C) = Commercial; (I) = Industrial; (R) = Residential; (L) = Parks, Landscapes & Streetscapes; (P) = Public.
Using this system, a new photo labeled (D)(C) would be in the Downtown Commercial section of the site.
Recent Updates

January 27, 2004:

  • The Regional Treatment Center (RTC) page was updated two days ago, but I was too tired to update this page as well. . . funny how having two kids will do that to a person! ;-)

  • No new photos were added, but some new information on the status of the RTC was included in the update.  There is a significant threat to the RTC, in that funds for demolishing the historic Kirkbride building - as well as most of the rest of the campus - have been included in Governor Tim Pawlenty's 2004 bonding proposal.  Visit the RTC page for more info, and learn what you can do to make your voice heard.  Anyone who cares about the history and development of Fergus Falls should be concerned about the fate of this historic property, and the need to slow down the wheels that have been set in motion so that the wrecking ball doesn't move in this summer.

December  14, 2003:

  • Happy Holidays :)
  • Well, my scanner conked out on me, so that stack of photos on my desk sat there until I could replace the scanner.  I've got the images all scanned in now, and will post them as time permits.  For now, here's one new photo. . .

November 4, 2003:

  • Added some information to the Regional Treatment Center page regarding the City of Fergus Falls Request for Proposals (RFP) for the purchase and redevelopment of the RTC.

  • It's been a while since the last substantive update. . . I've got a stack of photos on my desk that need to be scanned in and posted to the site.  I'll be adding a few here and there as time permits over the course of this winter.

June 1, 2003:

  • Added the following photos:
    • Fergus Falls Fire Station (D)(P)
    • Veterans Memorial Park and the Walk of Flags (D)(L) - four photos
  • Updated the layout on all the Downtown pages on the site.

April 19, 2003:

  • Happy Easter :)

  • Added the following photos:

  • With this update we've surpassed the 200 photo mark on the Fergus Falls Photo Page.  There are presently 204 photos on the site.  Here's a breakdown of how the photos are distributed, in case you're curious. . .

April 6, 2003:

  • Added the following photo:
    • Opperman Lake (N)(L)

  • Updated the layout of several pages on the site; pretty much everything except for the photo pages.

  • The "Landscapes & Streetscapes" category is being re-named "Parks, Landscapes & Streetscapes" to better reflect the fact that parks make up the majority of the photos in that category.  The "L" abbreviation will still be used on this page, however, since "P" is already spoken for by the "Public" category.

March 17, 2003:

  • Happy St. Patty's Day!!!

  • We've just completed a new section featuring the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center.  Click here to check it out.   As part of the update, we've added 28 photos from the RTC campus, and added links from the home page and the North Side Public Buildings Page.

February 24, 2003:

February 23, 2003:

  • Added the following photos:

    • New Salvation Army Building (S)(C)
  • Finally updated the South Side Landscapes & Streetscapes page that was listed in the update on January 21.  Server problems initially prevented me from uploading the page, and then I forgot about it until now :-)
  • Continued some work on the site re-design. . . updated the South Side Commercial Page.

January 31, 2003:

  • Pictures from the Fergus Falls Photo Page are going to be featured on P.E.G. Access, Channel 8 in Fergus Falls.   P.E.G. Access is the local Public, Education and Government Channel here in Fergus Falls.  I'm excited to begin this mutually beneficial relationship that will result in some nice photos on the P.E.G. Access channel, and will create more local awareness of the Fergus Falls Photo Page.  You can begin looking for photos on Channel 8 beginning the week of February 3.

  • Added a link to the P.E.G. Access web site on the Links Page.

  • Updated the formatting on a few pages in the site, including the What's New Page.

January 21, 2003:

  • I'm in the middle of a minor site re-design - mostly related to the fonts and some minor layout changes.  That, along with the addition of maps to the site over time, will result in some pages having a different appearance than others.  My goal is to evenutally get all the pages looking the same.

  • Added the following photos:
    • Broken Down Dam Park (S)(L) - Five photos
    • DeLagoon Park (S)(L) - Three photos
  • The Fergus Falls Photo Page surpassed the 10,000 hit mark on January 5, 2003!  The site is currently just over 10,400 hits.

July 16, 2002:

  • There's a new feature on the Downtown Public Buildings page. . . maps! In addition to photos of buildings, there's also a map showing the location of each building in town. I'll be adding a similar to feature to all the pages over time, but this is the first one. Let me know what you think of the maps by sending me an email.

  • In the last "What's New" update I forgot to mention that I updated the To-Do list, removing the photos that have been added to the site, and adding a few new photos that I'd like to take.

July 13, 2002:

  • It's been a while since the last update. . . the weather in Fergus was tough for picture-taking up until now, so that's my excuse for the lack of updates to the site ;-) I'm hoping to take a few more trips out this summer before winter sets in again, so check back periodically over the summer.

December 25, 2001:

  • Merry Christmas! :)

  • Added the following photos:

    • Four photos of the Fergus Falls Regional Treatment Center (N)(P)

  • Added a requested photo and several West End Commercial Buildings to the To-Do list.

  • Added two new questions to the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Page.

  • Added a link to Otter Tail County's web site on the Links Page.

  • Less than three months after reaching the 2000 "hit" level, the Fergus Falls Photo Page surpassed the 3000 hit mark on December 4, 2001, and is now topping 3500 hits.

September 24, 2001:

  • Back on September 12, I added a tribute to the victims of the attacks on our great nation. You can see the tribute by clicking here or on the American flag on the home page.

  • The Fergus Falls Photo Page celebrated its first birthday on September 20, 2001. The site also recently surpassed 2000 "hits," meaning that the Fergus Falls Photo Page has been viewed over 2000 times since its inception. We're glad to see that so many people are visiting the site, and hope that you continue to enjoy seeing the sights of Fergus Falls, Minnesota!

  • Added a requested photo to the To-Do list.

  • Worked on the layout on a few of the individual photo pages.

September 2, 2001:

July 12, 2001:

  • Added a requested photo to the To-Do list.
  • Added a picture of myself to the About page - now if you see me around town, you can tell me what a great job I'm doing ;-)
  • I'm experimenting with a couple of different possibilities for layouts on the photo pages, so I added a "secret" link in the bottom right-hand corner of the West End Public Buildings page. When you click on it, you'll go to a page with a vertical layout for the photos. There's another "secret" link in the same spot on that page, too. That link will take you to a third design option, which is very similar to the current page layout; the only difference is that the photos actually line up horizontally (if you look closely, they don't on the current layout).
