Here is the text inscribed on the Historical Marker commemorating the first school in Fergus Falls:

First School Building in Fergus Falls Located on Lincoln Avenue west near Union - Lot 41, Block 41, Original Plat.

This boulder was taken from the lot on which the first school building was located. It was placed here and dedicated by the citizens of Fergus Falls on June 25, 1932 to commemorate the organization of School District No. 21 on March 14, 1871.
